Summary

I bring to the table over over 15 years of online business, information technology, and online marketing experience. My academic background spans an AAS in Accounting, a BBA in Information Systems, an Executive MBA, with post graduate studies in international business, and currently, I’m working on a PhD in Information Systems at Nova Southeastern University. My work history spans two separate $10B Fortune 100 organizations, deep agency experience, contractual work, and even an entrepreneurial stint.

With mastery of various web & media technologies, including online marketing, branding, communications, social media, web development, analytics and infrastructure, I believe my unique experience, track record, and academic background provide a valuable mix to any online (internal or external facing) presence.

If you have a moment, read on, you’ll get a better idea of where I come from.

My official technical background began in early 2001, when I held a position at Thermo Electron as a Technical Support Engineer that reported to the Director of the Web Services Group in Tower 1 of the World Trade Center in New York City. In this role I was responsible for the Quality Assurance Testing and Technical Support of the company’s Content Management Application, various other custom built People & Product Catalog Tools, and other corporate information sharing tools – all hosted on the company intranet. Additionally, I provided training, created best practice guides, documentation, and web analytics reporting – from the user level to the managerial level – for constituents across the world.

I worked closely with the Development Team in designing the company’s homepage, top level landing pages, product pages, and secondary micro-sites, among others. In addition to managing various design and usability projects, I became very familiar with Project Management and all technical aspects of the full development cycle, including PHP, Java, TCL, Oracle Databases, HTML, CSS, and other programming languages.

As my tenure with the Thermo Electron advanced, my position evolved from tech-centric to a business focused role where I functioned as Corporate eMarketing Communications Manager. In that role I served as a Team Leader for 12 or so top level Content Managers and eMarketing Managers – whom all had a myriad of people working with and for them. I liaised with them, Web Developers, Management and the User Community to create corporate level content management policies, as well as content & brand standards based on best practices and emerging trends in the industry.

Email Marketing campaigns where a top priority, as well as Search Engine Optimization, Content & Conversion Optimization, Usability Testing, among other Web Marketing responsibilities.

Web Analytics reports were built, analyzed, and delivered to constituents in various countries, as well as upwards to higher management, including the CEO, and CTO. When additional metrics were needed, I would work with the development team & the analytics vender to ensure we collected the correct data in order fulfill the need for custom reporting.

There were also weekly collaboration phone/video meetings, periodic training sessions, sometimes held in other states or countries, and I was a routine speaker at yearly corporate conference meetings. I also represented the company as a guest speaker at the 2006 edition of Vignette Village, a yearly user conference in Austin, Texas, held by the enterprise content management vendor Vignette.

In mid 2007 I transitioned from a full time employee with Thermo to a contractor, working as a contracted Information Architect. I focused on Web Site Optimization including Search Engine Optimization, and content strategy. The goal was to strengthen the company presence in Search Engines, provide eMarketers with advanced SEO concepts, and leverage existing content to accelerate web marketing campaign effectiveness.

In addition to my corporate experiences, I garnered a number of years as an entrepreneur working with audio, video, event production, branding, emarketing, and social media including building a web community of over 23,000 registered users. On various occasions throughout the years I was able to create products, brands, and even launched a few careers for clients and partners – many of which are still going strong today.

By weaving complex Event Tracking & Processing Methodologies with on/off-line and mobile data, I facilitated the build of Engagement, Segmentation, Retention, Reach, Conversion & Loyalty reports, which enable advanced business decision making – both on-demand and in real-time.
